Res/Rec Supervisors

The Res/Rec Supervisor Positions will interest undergraduates of science, arts or recreation programs, looking for a summer job working with teenagers in a science enrichment program.

For 6 weeks, supervisors live and work at the Deep River Science Academy residence during evenings (from 4 p.m. until 7:30 a.m.) and full days on weekends. Accommodation and meals are provided while in residence.

Before the students arrive, the Res/Rec Supervisors prepare recreation equipment, install computers and assist office staff with registration preparations for the high school students.

During the 6-week program specific duties include: supervising the students at all times that they are not on a project job site and under the supervision of their tutor; ensuring that the students are prepared for project attendance each day and that they are safely transported to and from the project site; maintaining strong and continuous communication with all students; and under the direction of the Program Coordinator, help to plan and oversee recreational activities for the students.

Res/Rec Supervisors also assist students with homework and mentor high school students through a challenging program.
